Best Low Maintenance Lip Products
Hi everyone! As much as I love the perfect red lip, I also love those lip products that can be quickly and easily applied with minimal effort! So today I bring you some products that are low-maintenance and easy to use… some are so simple, you don’t need a mirror! And some are so long-wearing, you might not even need to worry about touch-ups! Here we go!
Jordana Twist & Shine- shown in Candied Coral ($1.99, Walgreens)
These new jumbo sticks are said to be “moisturizing balm stains” and I think these are the epitome of the low maintenance lip! I am so impressed by the pigmented color, smooth texture, and staying power! This Candied Coral shade is the only one I’ve tried so far, and it really stays true to color throughout the day. Even after losing the initial shine, the lips don’t feel dry and still have vibrant color until you make an effort to wash it off. Love it!
IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush- shown in Damsel ($20, itcosmetics.com)
Followers of Beauty Broadcast on YouTube have heard me talk about this one a lot! The Lip Flush is loaded with extra moisturizing ingredients like plum oil, cherry, oil, shea butter, and aloe. It ‘s another one of those products that feels amazing on the lips but leaves behind a beautiful stain. My mom loves how this product doesn’t accentuate lines in her lips or bleed into the fine lines around her lips. Shade picks: Je Ne Sais Quoi (magenta), and Damsel (soft rose).
Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick- shown in Sweet Watermelon ($8.99, Ulta.com)
In the 2012 Emily Awards I referred to this product as “the sweatpants of lip products”… they’re THAT comfortable! I love the color range and the bit of thickness in these jumbo pencils leaves the lips moisturized for a good part of the day. You can also expect an amazingly sweet, fruity scent. I wore these during a sub-zero trip to North Dakota in February and never got chapped lips… if that’s not a testimonial for this product, I don’t know what is! Shade picks: Sweet Watermelon (light pink), Bright Berry (medium pink), and Fresh Papaya (soft peach).
Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Lip Color- shown here in Coral ($4.99, crazyrumors.com)
I’m so glad I discovered this line, which is created by a couple in Georgia. If you want some real gourmet lip balms- give this brand a look. From ice cream to coffee-inspired scents, you’ll love the variety! And for a hint of color and a scent that takes you off on a mini vacation, check out the HibisKiss balms. AMAZING. Coral is a great basic shade that gives the lips some pretty color and shine. Also, this brand is all natural and vegan!
Maybelline Baby Lips- shown here in Cherry Me ($3.99, Ulta.com)
These handy balms are great for soothing lips that may not be in the best shape- and you have a choice of getting a classic colorless balm or something with a bit of tint! For people who want the easiest, most natural red lip that looks like a cherry popsicle stain, check out Cherry Me. I also love Peach Kiss for a nude-but-not-too-nude sheen. These are so easy for on-the-go use and really nourish the lips. If you’re partial to the scent of Fruity Pebbles and just want a clear option, try Quenched.
Thanks so much for checking out a round-up of my favorite low-maintenace lip products! I’d love to hear your favorite in the comments section! And don’t forget to check the Beauty Broadcast blog and YouTube channel for more reviews and tutorials! Have a great day! – Emily
